Training Programme

Understanding China

The Understanding China training programme can accommodate up to 30 participants per cycle. The deadline for application is 30 April 2010!
Due to the limited number of seats available, a selection process will be carried out by EUROCHAMBRES, UAMS and the European Commission.

The selection process will comprise the following steps:
  • Pre-screening: after the deadline, an initial pre-screening will be carried out with all candidates via short telephone interviews, to verify and/or clarify eligibility or elements of their applications
  • Selection committee: representatives of EUROCHAMBRES, UAMS and the European Commission will form a selection committee to evaluate the pre-screened eligible applications and select those candidates with the highest scores on award criteria and the highest potential to benefit from the programme
  • Results: The results will be communicated directly to successful applicants. A waiting list will be also created in case of cancellations.
  • Participation commitment: Once selected, the selected participants will sign a participation commitment with EUROCHAMBRES

Financial support

All training courses and the study visit are financed by the Understanding China programme together with the accommodation of the participants in the EU and China. Understanding China is an excellent programme where I received practical information on the Chinese market. The Programme offers a good mix of classical training and hands-on experiences, like the study visit, with thorough feedback directly from SMEs.

I would definitely recommend this experience.
Matteo Latini, Promotional Events Coordinator Ancona Promuove, Agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Ancona for the internationalization of SMEs
Apart from the benefits of the training, the programme has been invaluable for networking and making new contacts.

During the training you are in direct contact with people from other business organisations who work in the same field as you - the exchange of information and best practices as well as the identification of possibilities of working together will certainly be useful for my future work.
Javier Bahut,
Director Representative Office,
SODERCAN, China
Thanks to the Understanding China programme I have been able to work on a project aimed at improving our China services for our companies.  The information provided during the training was targeted and adapted to our needs.

I am very happy with the results achieved by participating!
Luc van Looveren,
Senior Advisor EU relations, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Antwerp-Waasland, Belgium
In China, it is all about who you know. The study visit has given me the opportunity to meet a number of different actors on the ground with whom I will be able to work together in the future.

Combined with the training modules, I have received a comprehensive insight both from a Chinese and a European perspective and a vast practical knowledge about China!
Andrea Grubišić,
Senior Regional Coordinator - Overseas Desk, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Croatia
