SME Roundtable on Clean Technologies

Madrid Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a roundtable about “Clean Tech Sector in China: Challenges and Opportunities”, in its headquarters on Monday, 11 July 2011.

The Chinese clean tech market is very competitive and all the world’s most outstanding companies are interested in it. Nevertheless, while some sectors are still restricted to foreign investment, some engineering giants as well as smaller players have found their niche and investments in this key industry are already starting to pay off. What are the opportunities and obstacles for foreign small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter China’s clean tech market? How can they cope with competition and what can the EU do to help? How can Spanish companies benefit from opportunities given by the clean tech sector in China?

Aiming to gather companies, institutions, associations and educational centres, the roundtable provided entry strategies, analysed how to access public tenders and study the main lines of the environmental legislation in the Chinese clean tech market.
